I’m Allondra Gonzalez, RD, CDN, a Registered Dietitian and founder of Manhattan Integrative Nutrition in New York City. I specialize in women’s hormonal health, fertility nutrition, PCOS nutrition, and pregnancy nutrition. Through my practice, I work with women who want to support hormone balance, improve fertility, and feel stronger and more confident in their health through evidence-based nutrition.
This is the story of how I became a dietitian and why I chose to dedicate my work to supporting women’s health.
Early Inspiration: Food, Family, and Fresh Ingredients
Growing up, my dad had a deep love for fresh ingredients. We spent weekends planting vegetables and fruits in our backyard garden, and I still remember the pride he took in cooking meals straight from the soil we nurtured. He was also big into fermenting kimchi, sauerkraut, and even homemade pickles that lined our kitchen shelves.
Those experiences planted the first seeds of my interest in nutrition and health.
Studying Nutrition and Dietetics
I later earned my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State University, Long Beach. During my studies, I became increasingly fascinated by how nutrition influences long-term health, hormone balance, and overall wellbeing.
This curiosity ultimately led me to pursue clinical training to deepen my understanding of nutrition in healthcare.
Clinical Training at Stony Brook Hospital
After graduating, I moved across the country to New York and completed 1,200 hours of supervised dietetic practice at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island. This experience gave me a strong foundation in clinical nutrition and patient care.
Following my internship, I worked as an outpatient dietitian supporting women during pregnancy, including those managing gestational diabetes. Sitting with women during such an important stage of life showed me how powerful the right nutrition guidance can be, not only for their health, but also for their confidence as mothers-to-be.
Expanding My Perspective
I later completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Baruch College in New York City, combining my clinical background with business training. This experience helped me better understand how to build healthcare services that are accessible, compassionate, and truly centered around patients.
